NORMA MACMILLAN

As Reg is wont to say "Norma from DOWN in Arden", Norma hails from Arden, Manitoba. She is Mom to 3 upstanding sons and she is very excited to have just become a first time Granny with the birth of her grandson on Feb 20,2007! What better time to be picked Musician Of The Month!

Congratulations, Norma

Norma began playing and singing at the tender age of 10 years. She attributes her musical abilities to her Dad and her Uncle Bob who play every chance they get. Norma states that the family Christmas is a time for music and no one who attends gets away with saying they can't play.  They will be given a set of spoons or sometimes even a wooden spoon and a floor vent...anything that makes sound and they 'pick n grin' the day away.

She plays guitar, some electric bass, keyboard and has a wonderful singing voice. Norma played in a gospel band in Winnipeg for about a year and then freelanced with some groups in the Dauphin area for a couple of years.

Of Westman Jams, she says "The Jams has really inspired me to start playing again and I want to attend more often"
