MUSICIAN OF THE MONTH

Gib Gaucher

Gib is our wonderful lead guitar player and absolutely deserves the title "Musician of the Month".

He rarely misses a jam and rarely misses a tune. He is there to fill in our songs with his

instrumentalist stylings and can pick up any tune you throw at him. Shown here with his brand new Fender

Telecaster guitar he adds a touch of the professional to our amateur efforts.

Gib was born in Mariapolis, Manitoba but has lived in Brandon most of his life. He is married to wife, Joyce and

together they have 2 sons and 3 grandchildren, also all in Brandon.

His mother was his inspiration since she played "everything"...piano, guitar, fiddle, harmonica and she also sang.

He began playing as a teenager but typically other interests became more important and he gave up on music

until about 20 yrs ago when he pulled out his old guitar and got his fingers nimbled up once again.

Gib says he also plays a little fiddle but we have yet to see that talent.

He continues to play with various groups around Brandon and played with the band "Anthology" until recently.

Of Westman Jams, he says, "Its one of the best things around. Otherwise you don't get a chance to play and I've made lots of new friends"
