MUSICIAN OF THE MONTH
EDGAR HIGGINS
| Edgar and his wife Phyllis make their home in Minnedosa and began coming
to the Jams a little over a year ago. Edgar noticed how much fun we have and
decided it was an opportunity he couldn't miss so he pulled out his guitar and started to
learn to play. Thats right, folks, he's only been playing guitar for a year! He does
however have some background in music with keyboards and organ for the past 10 years. Phyllis comes from around Birtle and one day about a year and a half ago, they spied a poster in a local restaurant and on the spur of the moment decided to take in the Jam that day. What a monumental decision that turned out to be! They rarely miss a jam or an outing nowadays and have become an integral part of the Jamming circle. Edgar has even recently begun collaborating with a few of the other Jammers and can be seen at the next Christmas Concert partnering up with another of our regulars on a saucy little number that you wont' want to miss---(that would be November 29 in Shilo!!) Edgar says he just loves the old tunes and loves to recreate them. Here is a guy that we will be keeping an eye on as he grows into the music and stretches his limits. Come on out and watch his progress over the next year or so!
