MUSICIAN OF THE MONTH

MOMDanSep09.JPG (42326 bytes)

DANIEL FINN

Born in Newfoundland Dan joined the Army and eventually was stationed in Shilo.  He then married a Winnipeg girl and settled here after retirement from the service.  He now does volunteer work with the elderly in and around Brandon and is in training to become a peer counselor for addictions in the elderly.

He credits his family with his love of music and states his Dad (who is a Korean War vet) played guitar and his sister and brother-in-law also play.   He has 4 sisters and 1 brother.   He and his wife Doris have 4 children.

Dan says he also plays harmonica, spoons and tambourine and of course we all know he can sing a pretty tune.

Until becoming a Jammer, Dan played mostly around campfires and at home and says that Westman Jams has not only expanded his list of close friends but also opened many musical doors for him.  He is very computer literate and has recently volunteered to become the next newsletter editor!!  We are looking forward to his endeavours and to finding out what kind  of spin he can bring to liven things up a little in that department.

We hope to have Dan around the Jams for many more years so we can enjoy his positive upbeat personality and also his beautiful tunes.

Stop in and meet him at the next Jam.
