MUSICIAN OF THE MONTH

Bill Fleming
| Bill was born in Brandon on December 17th but won't tell which
year that was LOL. He started playing music at the
tender age of 7 yrs!
Bill says that there was a very talented musician around town on those days named Albert Johnson who played wonderful Hawaiian Steel guitar and played for dances at the old Palladium on 13th and Rosser Ave. It was Albert who inspired Bill to learn music and it has become a lifelong friend. Bill now play acoustic guitar, a little banjo and a little mandolin. He and wife Audrey, our Musician of the Month for May 2006 have been playing together for some 52 years Together they have 2 sets of twins and 8 grandchildren at last count and still enjoy not only music and family but are still deeply in love. To quote a book I'm currently reading "That just flabbers my gast!!" They continue to play music together at church functions and seniors homes and we certainly wouldn't be the same without both of them. Congratulations Bill on being drawn as our August 2006 Musician of the Month |
